We have come to visit Grandma & Grandpa Merryman in Nebraska and have had a great time. We went to take Grandma an addition to her collection – our parrot, Jasmine is going to be staying with her for an undetermined amount of time. They seem to really hit it off! Mom decided she might enjoy a parrot and we thought we could share one of ours.
During our visit we’ve gotten to see a lot of adorable creatures as always. We also got to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Merryman – the best looking 96 & 95 year olds I’ve seen all year! It is such a blessing to get to spend time with them, they have all sorts of great stories to tell and always seem to be smiling. We also got to spend some time with my brother Mike and his wife Stacey too. They have interesting pets too – Sugar Gliders! They are COOL! And FAST. The kids thoroughly enjoyed watching them. Spook and Gremlin thoroughly enjoyed us leaving.
The kids all enjoyed some time on the backs of some horses this trip as well. Big horses, little horses – they did it all! Mikaela, Mikenzy, Mikalister and Max are all avid riders. We had to pry them off. The girls even got the hang of it enough to ride and steer all on their own. They loved it. Mikah enjoyed riding a bit but prefers riding things with wheels with Grandpa if given the choice. Luckily there’s plenty of that on the farm as well! Speaking of wheels, there was even horses pulling a thing with wheels – yep, the driving ponies were out pulling their cart and giving rides as well! Mom’s friend Lucille (okay, she’s our friend too, but she likes Mom best) had the carriage waiting when we arrived and drove the kids all around until sundown. They literally role out the welcome wagon around here!
I will be dragging some very tired children home with me . . . . good thing there will be plenty of time for rest in the car and luckily, we will only have ONE bird on the way home as opposed to the craziness of transporting the TWO birds on the way down. Yes indeed, we like to keep things lively! See you guys real soon!
