Mikaela's 2nd Grade Works

Last night was "Back to School Night" for Mikaela. She got to go meet her new 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Hardwick, see her classroom and stash her new school supplies. She was more excited about the whole ordeal than I can describe. After this big event last night, we decided to sort through some of her projects and writing we’d kept from 2nd grade as we prepare to look ahead to the year to come. So, I thought I’d share, come take a quick look at a couple of pieces from Miss Jung’s 2nd grade classroom . . .

Mikenzy's Kindergarten Works

Since we went through Kaela’s work from last year, we couldn’t skip Kenzy’s either. She get’s to meet her new 1st grade teacher next Tuesday and she get’s to attend one of the two 1st grade classrooms at the brand new (not quite finished yet) Kindergarten Center right in our neighborhood. I believe in the next couple years the facility will be a full elementary school.

Here’s some work that Kenzy did last year with Mrs. Kensok.

We had a great family vacation this year! Casey and I and 4 of our most favorite kids got in the car and trek’d our way to the great state of Washington. It was great fun for all ages. The boys saw the ocean and mountains for the first time and all the kids made the longest car ride of their lives! Going out we drove straight through and arrived a short 21 hours later. We made a couple quick stops to “run the kids” but otherwise we just “kept on truckin”.
While in WA we had our friends snap an updated family picture with the great Pacific Ocean in the background. The trip to the beach was definitely one of the many highlights!
Here’s a picture of our outstanding hosts – the Downing clan. Yep – that’s right folks, we had 7 children staying in 1 hot house for 7 days and no one was killed! Actually, we all had a really great time! Thanks Downings for all your hospitality!
So, I’ve been pretty slow to get on the blogging train, I know. I have new inspiration though, my mother-in-law, Kathleen, has just joined the online world so our viewing audience has grown! She’s recently just gotten her very first computer and she’s learning all sorts of new things as she’s “getting connected” and we’re so excited for her – she’s doing great, folks! With Kathleen and all the rest of our family a couple states away I hope to share little bits of our day-to-day lives for their enjoyment. This blog will primarily feature the kids and what they’re up to with lots of candid pictures – if you’re into that then you’re going to love visiting the site. If adorable pictures of our kids aren't you're thing . . . we understand, you're not obligated to come back.
That's it for now - have a great one!
